Community Matters

Danielle Mia RYT500​

Founder of FLOW Fitness & Wellness

Danielle Mia is a dedicated fitness professional with over 20 years of experience in the wellness industry. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she currently resides in  North Carolina, and considers it to be her second home. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from North Carolina State University, which deepens her understanding of the human experience in relation to health and wellness.

A  certified yoga instructor:YT500, and Wellness Coach, Danielle believes  health and wellness is a personal responsibility. Her mission is to empower individuals to take control of their physical and mental health. Through FLOW Fitness & Wellness, she aims to educate, and build a supportive community that fosters a safe environment for personal growth, all while providing the essential tools for creating the life you want.

A word form Danielle Mia:

My love for health and wellness started at a very young age. For as long as I can remember I’ve been active and health conscious. While other kids drink soda, I preferred a V8. During my scholastic years,  I ran track, played volleyball and basketball. Over 20 years ago I made the decision to become a Group Fitness instructor, and it was one of the best decisions I have made. It was the beginning of my journey in the pursuit of my passion. 

In 2016, I completed yoga teacher training and became a yoga  instructor. This changed my life. The practice of yoga forced me to look in the mirror, and face what was looking back at me. Yoga, didn’t judge me, or make me feel less than. But instead, it offered a safe place for self study, and the necessary tools to make different choices, breeding different results and a better experience of life. My yoga practice holds me accountable, with compassion, while creating space for growth. It allows me to recognize and accept all that is human, and helps me learn how to love each of those layers, despite their appeal.  What have I learned? Showing up  isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.

I am thankful for my struggle, because without it I wouldn’t have stumbled across my strength. -Alex Elle
